Monitoring of weediness in the Champagne appellation

Project description – Since 2010, the CIVC has been monitoring the evolution of grass cover over the entire Champagne appellation using satellite images. Every 3 years, the work, co-financed by the Seine Normandy Water Agency, maps the rate of grass cover in the appellation. Based on the existing relationship between the vigour estimated from satellite images and the rate of weediness, the work requires each time an important campaign of field observations led by the CIVC to calibrate the relationship. This work has been entrusted to TerraNIS since 2018.
